DISSERTATION RESULTS

The project began by analyzing Lia Sky’s fragmented visual identity, where inconsistencies across styling, imagery, and digital presence revealed a lack of cohesion in her emerging persona.

Through interviews, audience perception, and social media analysis, I developed a creative direction that translated her music into a visual language. Styling became a method of construction rather than decoration, shaping how identity is both performed and perceived.

Garments were sourced, altered, and created, with details such as rhinestones acting as constellations, reinforcing the narrative of ‘Sky.’ Blue lighting emerged as a symbolic element, connecting name, mood, and presence.

Across multiple shoots, the work evolved from building a persona to capturing a state of becoming in which control, vulnerability, and performance coexist.

Following this process, elements of the developed visual direction, including the use of blue lighting, were later adopted by Lia in her own imagery.
